Workplace violence often includes behaviors such as physical assault, threats, harassment, intimidation, and bullying (Mathis, Jackson, Valentine & Meglich, 2017, p. 558). You are correct that workplace violence does not just involve physical harm that one may do to another, it can be in the form of verbal harm.
The workplace is not immune to violence. It can happen anywhere, anytime, by anyone and sparked by any reason.
