The words with multiple different ways of spelling and pronunciation are endless. You become used to it when English is your first language. However I have noticed particularly in reading that sometimes you’ll read a passage and think, hold on that doesn’t make sense. Then as you think about it you realize that you have thought of the wrong word. “A minute discrepancy was found”. The reader pronounces it as Minute, which is a time frame instead of minute meaning a small irregularity. This throws off the sentience completely. You hear this regularly happening in the media. Sometimes when politicians make speeches and English is not their first language they pronounce letters in the word which are usually silent. For example Foreign, where the letter “g” is
2009. A symbol is an object, action, or event that represents something or that creates a range of associations beyond itself. In literary works a symbol can express an idea, clarify meaning, or enlarge literal meaning. Analyze a symbol in George Orwell's 1984, and write an essay demonstrating how that symbol functions in the work and what it reveals about the characters or themes of the work as a whole. Do not merely summarize the plot.
There is a huge difference between signs and symbols and many of these were seen in the movie Secondhand Lions. A sign is a physical thing, gibes a brief message, stands for something, and usually instructs someone about something. Examples of signs are warning signs, street signs, informations signs, open/closed signs of shops and restaurants, and many more. A symbol, on the other hand, is something that is visible but represents something invisible that is hard to put into words. It requires your interpretation and they affect how we feel. Examples of symbols are actions like hugs or hand shakes when someone passes away, objects like wedding rings to represent a couples love, a dove to express peace, and a cross to represent Christianity.
Symbolism is used in many ways and writers use symbolism to “enhance their writing.” It can give their work “more richness and color and can make the meaning of the work deeper.” In literary work the actions of the characters, words, action, place, or event has a deeper meaning in the context of the whole story. The reader needs to look see the little things like a dove symbolizes peace, or like the red rose stands for romance. Mostly everything can have a symbolism meaning to it. For instance the flag symbolizes freedom and the stars represent the states. Even some signs are symbols like when a beaker has a skull with a bones placed like an ‘x’ behind it symbolizes that it’s toxic or bad. When people see the red light when driving that’s

Symbolism is a characteristic that stands out in a person or thing. People usually use symbolism for something that means to them or represents to them. The colors symbolize something’s to for example the colors white, red and blue symbolize freedom in the United States, it also represents the United States flag. Symbols are also used in movies like the hunger games catching fire; their symbol is a mocking bird with an arrow on it.
1. In order for the education system to change and be multiracial there are different sections where you need to work from. Starting from the curriculum structure subjects such as science and math should recognize inventors who created science and math theories. When it comes to english and history; english should allow teachers to pick their authors and subjects that they think their students will be able to enjoy while learning the standards needed for that grade. “…Educators must have knowledge of children’s live outside of school so as to recognize their strengths” (Delpit, 242). As a minority my self having teachers who gave us the options to read books where we could relate to the characters and story lines it was easier for us to actually

a. Many phrases could accurately describe the concept of mathematics and more specifically break down the eccentric content in which math depicts different theorems and ideas that mathematics has been presented in. I would say that three phrases would be the idea of it being “complex” in its relation to always building upon another idea and the “big picture” ideas that can never be truly understood without understanding another concept on mathematics. The second phrase would be “always changing” because of the idea that mathematics has never been set in stone and is always being changed and discovered anew due to new revolutions and discoveries being made in the field every single day. The final concept is the fact that “it’s everywhere” in reference to the idea that mathematics can always be applied and found in all aspects of daily life and there is no true way to escape the concept on mathematics and the always expanding ideas it brings to society.
Every day, mathematics is used in our lives. From playing sports or games to cooking, these activities require the use of mathematical concepts. For young children, mathematical learning opportunities are all around them. Knaus (2013) states that ‘Young children are naturally curious and eager to learn about their surroundings and the world they live in’ (pg.1). Children, young and old, and even adults, learn when they explore, play and investigate. By being actively involved, engaging in activities that are rich, meaningful, self-directed and offer problem solving opportunities, children given the chance to make connections with their world experiences (Yelland, Butler & Diezmann, 1999). As an educator of young children,
For the remaining parameters, we needed a tree that would not lose its readability and still provide good results; therefore, we chose a maximum depth of 7, since increasing it did not improve the results significantly, and would have made it more difficult to extract the rules and observe the results. Regarding the maximum number of bins, the default value is 32. As our variables were all continuous we could choose a lower number of bins and the one that yielded best results was

We come up with things and decide that it is a symbol for something else. Like in the road the road is a symbol because it has deeper meaning than what the author is telling us. The author does this to make the reader think more in depth while reading. In any book there will be symbolism, you just have to break it down and think about it. In How to read Literature like a Professor Foster talks about how if the reader thinks that the subject is a symbol than it mostly is because you aren't told that it is a symbol you have to get to that conclusion on your own.
