1. In order for the education system to change and be multiracial there are different sections where you need to work from. Starting from the curriculum structure subjects such as science and math should recognize inventors who created science and math theories. When it comes to english and history; english should allow teachers to pick their authors and subjects that they think their students will be able to enjoy while learning the standards needed for that grade. “…Educators must have knowledge of children’s live outside of school so as to recognize their strengths” (Delpit, 242). As a minority my self having teachers who gave us the options to read books where we could relate to the characters and story lines it was easier for us to actually
Laura Wallen. My teacher and class sponsor Ms.Wallen was killed during the first week of my senior year. If I had one more chance to talk to her I would be ecstatic. I would want to talk to her because she was one of the first teachers I met in high school. Having Ms.Wallen as a teacher who was always here supporting me was a great feeling. Every Time I saw Ms.Wallen she was smiling. During our homecoming week we would have to design a hallway and even with little to no supplies and only a few class council member, she would make it feel like we were winners. I would want to talk about college applications and all of the senior year events we were planning together. I would want to tell her that I love her and that her support from the beginning

Before taking this course I had a Dionysian type of thinking. I tended to act on emotion wanting to believe that people in general would not lie to me. That is why I could never be a cop. I also was a firm believer in Jean-Paul Sartre’s idea of existentialism. Existentialism is the idea of, “life is what we make it.” Sartre believed, “life is not what happens, but what we do.”(Detrick) I have lost friends because of this theory. I can only take so much complaining before I finally ask them, “so what are you going to do about the situation?” When they look at me confused I follow up with, “you are the only one who can change your situation.” In my twenty eight years of life I have found people do not like that question or statement. Many do not want to be held accountable for the situation they have put themselves in especially when they continue to stay there. I want to believe everyone has good intension and will not lie, but I do not have sympathy for individuals who complain about situations they choose to put themselves in.

1%- Upon reading chapter 16 I was profoundly shocked to see mention of the 1%. In the news over the last few years this has become a rather recognizable term however I did not realize this went all the way back to the beginnings of our country. I also find it shocking that after all this time we still have found no real resolution for the distribution of wealth in America. While I understand hard work for hard cash I do not understand how even back then these companies could profit so heavily off their employees with no care for their wellbeing or living situation. A company should never be allowed to pay someone less than the current living expense of the area. Also, I cannot help but feel like I am not reading history but instead an article from current times. Millionaires sit on snob hill while their employees struggle to keep on the lights.
Zomenhof believed that his invention would foster world peace, for he believed that if people spoke common language wars would cease. (for)
In order to ensure that we develop these diversity skills we have to be willing to work together as a team. We all want to see this organization thrive, so it is important that we communicate well with each other. First, I think we should have weekly or monthly meetings where employees are free to discuss any issues they see within the company. We can also use this time to develop new ideas and work on our means of communication. I think it is important that we get every single employee involved in this so that no one feels left out, and so everyone can express their own opinions. Because we have limited phone reception at the resort, we should also set up a radio system where we can stay in contact with everyone throughout the day. It is also important that we place employees that are fluent in English with those who are not, so they don’t feel pressured and rushed.
