What is Body Mass Index (BMI)?

The significance of the Body Mass Index
BMI is a simple screening method for weight categories such as underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obesity. BMI is the most practical method of classifying body fat mass and obesity. Because calculation requires only height and weight, BMI is an inexpensive and simple tool.
